Ok I guess this is part 2 of the myspace crap?

Does myspace really come with more viruses and adware, etc? I've heard that but I would like to hear from someone with proof or examples. As I mentioned before, a co-worker is always on it and aside from it being annoying this would be a great reason to block it.

Yes it does. I've fixed computer of my friends who have gotten infected by just clicking onto a profile, or clicking onto a message board topic. Whoever says it doesn't is ill informed. When you go onto Myspace they have these games (exp. Get a free ring tone) most of those are/can be infected with adware. When you get a Zinky for your profile it can/could be infected it ad/malware. If you go onto a message board were someone has added a script. You could be infected with a Trojan, adware, malware, virus, and/or hack script. I have seen a message board topic move around a persons screen, and shake around because someone added a script to it. It's not harmful, but it just takes a script.

no one does, people just say they do or "herd" that someone did, because they dont like it

Yes I've heard there are many viruses that can come from myspace. Especially if people have a lot on the profile, the page can get also stuck. Your friend might want to consider using Facebook, it is way safer and doesn't have all the virus problems.

Only for anyone stupid enough to download files from complete strangers - other than that, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a virus from simply visiting a website...

Now "Death by Popup" - that's a different story ;););)
